Incisive Validate 3.0.0 Beta Non-Beta Release Now Available!
New in this Version
Incisive Validate picks up where Audit left off. For those of you who have used Audit 2.0, you will find the region highlighing and approvals familiar. Taking a leap beyond Audit 2.0, we have new features that help you maintain your work after auditing a spreadsheet. Some Incisive Validate demonstration videos are available for online viewing. There are too many enhancements to list them all here, but some highlights of some of the new features can be found below.
Loading is Smarter
One of these new features enhances the loading of a saved auditing session. Validate handles sheet renaming, and changing spreadsheet contents elegantly. During the loading process, the user has the opportunity to re-approve formula regions and/or cell values. After applying these re-approvals, a change report is generated, that lets the use review the changes to the audited information.
Easier to Maintain
Further, during the auditing session, auditing actions are recorded. So, if, as a side effect of a change in the spreadsheet, approvals are cleared - they are not lost. First, a drop in the count of approvals since the last session save can be seen at a glance in the Validate Progress panel in the task pane. More details can be obtained by viewing the history using the link in the same progress pane. Now the user can review cleared approvals and re-apply them if appropriate.
Enhanced Reporting
The last think I would like to point out is that the Audit log became the Incisive Validate Log. This report has not only a new look, but also new statistics. A comparison of the save-file's contents to the current session helps you to see your progress, and the breakdown by user allows managers to see who has contributed to the save-file's contents.
