Description
This video demonstration will take you through a sample run of Incisive Xcellerator while highlighting some of its main features.

Overview of Xcellerator

  1. Open Microsoft Excel and Click on the Incisive tab at the top..
  2. Click ‘Start Xcellerator’ to run a scan for selected tests on spreadsheet. The default view is Test View’ which is what will load when Xcellerator is opened.
  3. Several things will happen:
    • The Xcellerator Results Summary dialog will be displayed
    • The Xcellerater Task Panel will appear on the right
    • Cells will be highlighted
  4. Click ‘Ok’ in the Xcellerator Results Summary box to close it. Errors will be highlighted in red.
  5. In the ‘Filters’ section of the Xcellerator Task Panel, you can choose which errors that are displayed by clicking on the corresponding checkboxes.
  6. In the ‘Results’ section of the Xcellerator Task Panel, you can select errors.
  7. Selecting an error will bring up an interactive speech bubble detailing the error. In this case, the error is ‘Formula fails to cover area’. This bubble suggests that we increase the range to include some cells that may have been missed.
  8. You can correct the error on your spreadsheet by increasing the range to include the cells suggested by Xcellerator.
  9. Click ‘Rescan’ to find that the error no longer pops up in the results.
  10. Another way to investigate the spreadsheet is Structure View, which can be activated by clicking ‘Structure/Test View’ button.
  11. In Structure View, you can now see purple boxes surrounding each formula cell. Clicking a purple outlined formula cell will highlight any referenced cells in blue
  12. To choose any other tests, click on the ‘Options’ button.
