This video demonstration will take you through a sample run of Incisive Validate 3.0 while highlighting its main features.
Overview of Validate
- Open Microsoft Excel and Click on the Incisive tab at the top..
- Click ‘Start Validate’ to start a Validate session on the current spreadsheet.
- A couple things will happen:
- The Validate Task Panel will appear on the right
- Regions (purple boxes around like formula cells) appear
- On the right, the Task Pane has four sections:
- Validate Progress
- Selected Region
- Regions
- Fault Investigator
- On the screen we see:
- Boxes that are called regions. A selected region can be approved - when approved it will be colored green.
- Cell values can be approved or disapproved using the mini menu.
- Approved values will color the cells that a formula references blue. Disapproved or suspect cells are colored from yellow to red. The more red the coloring, the more likely it is to be an error.
- You can save your work by clicking "Save Validate"
- You can load the saved Validate file by clicking "Open Validate"
- You can view a log/report that shows the current state of the Validate session.
