Description
This demonstration will show you some of the new features in Validate 3.0 including the Validate Progress panel, the View History window, the new look to the log file, as well as enhanced loading capabilities. This video is designed to introduce the new features to current RedRover Audit users.

New Features in Validate 3.0

  1. First, we open an in-progress auditing session with Validate.
  2. In the Validate Progress panel, we have:
    • 10 cell values approved
    • 8 formula regions approved
    • 24 formula regions still unapproved
    • A link: View History
  3. Next, we'll change a value that will cause a cell value approval to be cleared
  4. We can review what cleared by clicking the View History link in the Validate Progress panel
  5. Now, let's re-save our validate session, and make some changes that demonstrate the new loading capabilities of Validate.
  6. Let's move the cell in C4, which is referenced to a new location, which will change a formula region.
  7. Let's also change the sheet name to something new: Payroll 2010
  8. Now, we load our saved file and we get the Sheet renamed dialog, which allows us to select a new sheet name for one that was missing from our saved validate session.
  9. Then we get the Changes dialog which lets us re-approve cell values or cleared region approvals.
  10. From this window, we can generate a changeset report. This report shows us the difference between our saved file and the current session. Using it, we can see the details of what approvals were cleared and why.
  11. Finally, we can look at the Validate Log. This log has been updated and enhanced to show more information about the saved Validate session including the contributers to the current audit of the spreadsheet.
