This video demonstration will introduce a feature of Incisive Validate called formula regions. We start this demonstration with Validate running on a demonstration workbook.
Introduction to formula regions in Validate
- Formula regions group areas of similar formulas.
- Purple boxes indicate the location of each formula region.
- Next, we create a formula region
- Add a fomula equal to the cell two columns to its left.
- Notice that a new formula region is created.
- In the cell directly below it, add the same fomula - equal to the cell two columns to its left.
- Because the formula entered in these two cells is the same - equal to the cell two columns to their left, they are placed together into the same formula region.
- There is more to learn about formula regions, but this should get you started in understanding what you see when you start Validate.
