Introduction to formula regions in Validate

  1. Formula regions group areas of similar formulas.
  2. Purple boxes indicate the location of each formula region.
  3. Next, we create a formula region
  4. Add a fomula equal to the cell two columns to its left.
  5. Notice that a new formula region is created.
  6. In the cell directly below it, add the same fomula - equal to the cell two columns to its left.
  7. Because the formula entered in these two cells is the same - equal to the cell two columns to their left, they are placed together into the same formula region.
  8. There is more to learn about formula regions, but this should get you started in understanding what you see when you start Validate.
