This video demonstration will show you how to approve or disapprove a value during an Incisive Validate auditing session. We start this demonstration with a simple spreadsheet open.
How to approve a value using Validate
- Notice: Approving a value is not the same as approving a formula. For formula approvals, see: approving a formula region
- First, we start Validate and analyze the open workbook.
- Next, we can approve a cell value using the mini-menu that appears when we mouse over the cell
- By left clicking the mini-menu, we can choose the check to appove the cell value, or the 'X' to mark that cell value as suspect / disapproved
- Next, we can approve a cell value that is generated by a formula
- When we do that, all of the referenced cells are colored the approval color because they have inferred approval.
- Similarly, we can mark a cell as disapproved or suspect with the 'X', and the cells referenced by the formula underneath are also marked with the suspect color.
