This video demonstration will introduce you how Incisive Validate monitors Excel's behavior of external workbook updates. We start this demonstration with a workbook called "simple_formulas" that references another workbook called "simple_external_data".
Cross Workbook Features of Validate
- We start with two workbooks: One with a single formula called "simple_formulas" and one with a data cell called "simple_external_data".
- We start with Validate already running and the formula's value marked as suspect (with an X).
- Using the Fault Investigator, we can click to the data cell referenced by the formula.
- After updating the data cell, Validate alerts us that our cell that was marked as suspect changed.
- We can see that in the Validate History. Goto Selection will take us to the affected cell.
- Now, we can approve the cell's new value.
- You can watch more tutorials at Incisive.com
